The objective of the Foundation is to manage the fund and seek the support of benefactors from Rutherglen and surrounding areas including former residents and people connected with the township. The return generated on this fund is to be used for special projects and enhancements in the cemetery, beyond the normal maintenance managed by the local Indigo council.

Responsibilities of Trustees
The Trustee’s specific responsibility is to support and maintain the historic cemetery and provide any necessary improvements .
It is anticipated investments from the fund will provide for works to be undertaken at the cemetery.
The Board of The Foundation intention is to provide improvements and beautification in perpetuity from the foundation funds.
